Taps presents a rare opportunity to try WhistlePig’s The Boss Hog, The Black Prince from Vermont-based WhistlePig, which was named Best in Show for whiskey at a blind tasting held during the 2017 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Made with 100% Rye, this 4th Edition of Boss Hog, The Black Prince, is a celebration of the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation. Triple-barreled in New American Oak, and then spent Bourbon casks, it goes on to be the first Rye Whiskey ever finished in Hogshead barrels: 250 liter Scotch casks, some of the largest barrels in the business, which were comprehensively refitted with new American oak heads. With only 30 barrels produced at an average of 125 proof, this edition of Boss Hog is extremely rare.
